Yellowstone National Park
Take a guided van tour inside, or just drive yourself, through Yellowstone National Park to Old Faithful or the Grand Canon of Yellowstone and see our nation's first national Park and one of the largest pars in the entire system.

West Yellowstone
West Yellowstone is only a 45 minute drive from Big Sky. You are certain to see wildlife along the way. While in town, visit the Yellowstone Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, and grab a bite to eat in of the many resturants.

Golf
Combine classic links-style golf and the stunning natural beauty of Big Sky country to witness a golf experience like no other -- the Scenic 18 hole par 72 golf course at Big Sky Resort. The Arnold Palmer course is 6,500 feet above sea level -- offering longer drives and spectacular views! Click here for a $10 off coupon. Tee times: 406-995-5780

Horseback Riding
Experience the true Montana way and take a trail ride with a local outfitter. We recommene Jake's Horses: 406.995.4630 or 800.352.5956.

Whitewater Rafting
Interlaced with rivers and streams, fly fishing isn't all that Montana waterways are known for. Winter run-off and brisk currents provide lots of exciting whitewater rafting as well. Agest 6 and up can float through rollicking whitewater or gentle riffles, equipped with the safest gear and a knowledgeable guide. Trying to fit a lot into your day? Not to worry. Both half and full-day excursions are available. Rates vary from around $45-$75. Contact Geyser Whitewater at 800.914.9031

Fly Fishing
Fish on the famed Blue Ribbon Rivers of the Gallatin, Madison and Yellowstone. We recommend East Slope Anglers: 406.995.4369 or 888.359.3974 and ask for Blaine.

Swim or get a Spa Treatment at the Moonlight Spa
Swin in the pool at the Moonlight Lodge (available for East-West Resorts guests) or get a massage or treatment at the Spa!

Tennis
Tennis courts are available in Big Sky Village, adjacent to Huntley Lodge. Racquets and balls are available at the Concierge Desk.

Scenic Lift Rides and Mountain Biking
Big Sky's scenic lift ride provides summer visitors with a bird's eye view of the surrounding mountains. Rent a mountain bike at the base for some high-altitude riding. Ride the scenic lift round-trip for optimum leisure. Get a nice workout by hiking back down to the village on our new self-guided nature trail. There are many trails on the mountain and around the area to enjoy, including the summit of Lone Peak for the very adventurous. The scenic lift operates daily 9:45am- 4:00pm (last ride down 4:15) mid-June through early October, weather permitting. Tickets may be purchased at Big Sky Sports in the Mountain Mall. Click here for a lift ride discount.

Hiking
Get acquainted with Mother Nature during your Big Sky stay. Peace of mind will return the moment you pull on your hiking boots and explore the miles and miles of trails in our Gallatin National Forest. Right at the resort, you can elect the easier route by taking our scenic lift ride up the mountain and then enjoy a leisurely hike down to the base on our self-guided nature trails. Wildflowers, roaring streams, distant snowclad peaks, and clean, crisp mountain air.

Stop by Big Sky Sports in the Mountain Mall or contact the Moonlight Mountain Concierge at (406) 995-7716 for information, maps and advice. Or visit this site for info on 6 classic Big Sky hikes. One of the easiest, and most rewarding local hikes is the 1.7 mile round trip to Ousel Falls!

Art Galleries and Boutiques
Tour area art galleries, such as the Gallatin River Gallery, the Painted Pony Gallery (406-995-2096), the Red Raven Gallery (406-995-4145), or check out great local boutiques, such as Horse of a Different Color (406-995-3113), or the Willow Boutique (406-995-4557).

Microbrewery!
The guys at Lone Peak Brewery (406) 995-3939) make a great selection of tasty brews! Be prepared to listen to some Grateful Dead, 'cause that's about all these guys play.
